The scope of work consisted of a renovation of all technical services, the building envelope, and modifications of the building for compliance with a combination of Department of State standards and local building code requirements. The residence is in a historically zoned neighborhood, thus significant local restrictions must be applied. These restrictions also applied to the security features.
The residence in Copenhagen, Denmark, was the subject of a report prepared by Hollingsworth Pack in 2007. This report led to the decision by the Department of State to renovate the building in Fiscal Year 2013. The delivery method was determined to be design-build, and Hollingsworth Pack was contracted to provide bridging documents, including the local building permit.
