Hansen Residence

New low-energy, single family residence

Designed by Scott Hollingsworth, the home for the K. Hansen family is located along the coast of the island of Zealand, in eastern Denmark. The home consists of an entry, living room, dining room, kitchen, two smaller bedrooms with separate bathroom, master bedroom with bathroom, and laundry room. There is a two car garage and basement with a mechanical room and large, social room. The home is constructed of brick and troweled with white mortar to give a textured white surface. The interior will have stone floor, white walls and natural wood finishes.

The home is a low-energy building meeting the current restrictive energy code requirements in Denmark. The home is heated with solar energy and natural gas, and has an average consumption of 20 KWh/m2/year.
