Hollingsworth Pack, in collaboration with Danish engineering firm EKJ, is supporting the renovation and expansion of an existing diplomatic compound in Addis Ababa, including the refurbishment of multiple existing buildings and the addition of new facilities.
Our BIM team developed and maintained a federated digital model of the compound, integrating building models with site topography, roads, utilities, and other existing-condition information. This created a coordinated spatial framework for design, helping the team understand relationships across the site, coordinate new work with existing infrastructure, and identify conflicts early.
As the project moved into construction, the BIM environment was continually updated to incorporate field discoveries, consultant input, evolving MEP information, and construction decisions. This allowed architectural, structural, MEP, security, interior, and site information to remain coordinated as conditions changed.
Working across an international team of client representatives, consultants, local engineers, and contractors, Hollingsworth Pack used BIM as an active project-management and coordination tool from design through construction—supporting multidisciplinary problem-solving, constructability, clear communication, and continuity of design intent.
