Spread across 2,200 acres in the rolling hills where the Pedernales and Colorado Rivers converge, Loraloma at Thomas Ranch is set to become one of the most amenitized master-planned communities in Texas.
Hollingsworth Pack Austin is providing structural engineering services to support the development, including the golf course maintenance facility, pump house, two comfort stations, and prototype designs for residential homes. Currently, 24 floor plan variations are under consideration, ultimately contributing to the construction of up to 450 custom homes across the Loraloma site.
A central goal of the project is to challenge conventional approaches to residential living by fostering a deeper connection to the natural environment and promoting a lifestyle centered on well-being.
As part of this effort, Hollingsworth Pack is also leading carbon footprint evaluations during the design process, drawing on its experience with the SE2050 program to reduce embodied carbon. This analysis has guided the team toward prioritizing wood and timber framing throughout the project.
Most notably, mass timber construction has been incorporated into the three-story Golf House building, which includes golf cart and event storage on the split lower level, a pro shop, lounge, restaurant, and kitchen on the main level, and office space above.
